Traditionally in Japan, the women who have an long egg-shaped oval face and long and slim eyes have been highly
acclaimed as a very beautiful woman. Eleanor Parker completely meets this condition. But, this isn't the only sales
point of hers. As her career suggests (she got nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award three times), also
she is a good and reliable performer. I guess, retrospectively, she seems to have been best memorized as the baroness,
in the movie "The Sound of Music" (1965), who loves Christopher Plummer but eventually is abondoned by
him on account of his falling in love with Julie Andrews. Unfortunately to the people like me who live in outside
of USA, it seems that she came to appear only in TV programs after 1970s.
