NOTE

It's very difficult to grasp her, at least for me. Even though she got many critical acclaims in addition to 4 times Best Actress Oscar nominations (1 received) and 3 times Best Support Actress Oscar nominations, it seems that she isn't so popular among ordinary movie audiences. I guess one reason might be that she is always portraying somewhat eccentric and kooky personality. And, she is always good at playing such characters. For example, a drunken ex-actress in "Sweet Bird of Youth" (1962), and a neurotic schoolteacher who cut down Clint Eastwood's legs in "Beguiled" (1971). She died of a heart attack in 1987.
