NOTE

Of course, I know she is an actress of 1940s and 1950s rather than 1960s and 1970s. But, as she continued to appear in several movies still after 1960s, I've picked her up here. She is quite a reliable and sturdy actress, which is proven by her eyes that seem to be projecting her strong will. Even her voice gives me an impression of firmness and stability. Yet, I feel she had always been belonging to the second echelon of top stars, and never been a super star like Vivien Leigh whom I think she slightly resembles. No wonder Susan Hayward was also one of the candidates of the role Scarlett O'hara for the movie "Gone with the Wind"(1939). Had she succeeded in getting that role, could she have been a super star like Vivien Leigh? I don't know. But, I think it's true that she was somewhat lacking in the gorgeousness required for being a super star. Anyway, there is no doubt in that she was one of the greatest performer.
