Although she was one of those actresses who appeared in the Sydney Lumet's movie "The Group"(1966),
her most memorable role was the one in the movie "A Patch of Blue"(1965) in which she played a very sensitive
blind girl who loves Sidney Poitier's soul, and that was her first screen appearance and nominated for an Academy
Award. It seems that, in actual life, she was as sensitive a girl as the one portrayed in this movie, and she actually
comitted suicide at her age 45. It' very sad, after 1970, she came to seldom appear in the silver screen, and even
when doing so, she was completely wasted in such a tasteless movie like "Walking Tall"(1973).
