She is a very very reliable actress and has quite a distinctive voice. In 1951, she made an impressive debut
by the movie "Detective Story", but, unfortunately, she became one of the victims of Red Scare. I guess
going through this predicament, along with her acting skills, might have made her a very reliable and rigorous
actress. Though she seems to have always been a support actress, her appearence has always added strong reliability
to the movies she is in. She won the best support actress Academy Award for "Shampoo"(1975), and, besides
that, got several nominations.
