There is no doubt in that she is a very stylish actress, though she looks better in motion than in a static
picture. Although I think, in Japan, she became well known by the TV series "Police Woman", she already
appeared in 1950s movies and played the female lead in the movie "Rio Bravo"(1959) with John Wayne. In
the movie "Big Bad Mama"(1974), she played the roll that seemed to be capable of being played only by
her; that was a big bad mama who shot a machine gun all over the place. Without her stylishness, the movie might
have winded up in just another bad taste violence movie. Incidentally, Ellen Barkin, I think, slightly resembles
younger days of Angei Dickinson.
