Despite of the declining of musical movies after 1960s, there appeared a couple of musicals during 1960s that
gained unprecedented great fame such as "West Side Story"(1961), "Mary Poppins"(1964), "My
Fair Lady"(1964) and "The Sound of Music"(1965). Julie Andrews appeared in two of those famous musical
movies. Furthermore, she would have played the part of Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady" hadn't it been
for the presence of Audrey Hepburn since Andrews was playing the role on Broadway. Certainly, she must have been
one of the last great musical stars in the movie history with beautiful singing voice and supple body movements.
She is also known as a writer of several fairy tales under the name Julie Edwards (she married with the director
Blake Edwards).
