First he went to a town on the border by a trolley. ( Fee of the street car was 2 dollars.) Then he walked across the border. He just walked over the footbridge and into Mexico soon. There was no check of passport and he just passed through the door like that of subway.
This is a photo of Tijana. The street makes me feel Mexico (?). Maya and Aztec were in Mexico. There were statues from those civilizations on the street.

When he coming back to US, it was also quite easy. He just showed his passport and put his luggage into a machine like checking in an airport.
My husband stayed in San Diego. There was sea in front of the hotel. There stayed a big sailing ship like pirates'.
As I like spiny lobsters (Ise Ebi), I looked forward to have them in South-Izu.
We found on the web that a direct sales store of a fishermen's association is selling lobsters and other seafoods at lower prices. We planned to stay at a rental cottage where we could cook and enjoy seafoods.
I heard that it would be very crowded with cars in Izu during holidays. We left our home at six thirty in the Morning. But we arrived there at 11:00 AM. The rental cottage was built on the hill. It had nice scenes. And we could view the sea from the window. But the room was not so neat that I was a little bit disappointed.
We had lunch at Yumigahama. My husband had lobster noodle and I had grilled lobster with cream sauce.
After lunch we had coffee, then we went to a direct sales store of a fishermen's association. We bought spiny lobsters, clams and turban shells. Alive lobster was very active and I was scared. I bought freezed ones. (they were cheaper.) We barbecued them at the cottage. I boiled lobsters.
Yumigahama that means "bow beach" is shaped like a bow. The sea was beautiful. We also visited Irozaki. We found strangely shaped rocks. There were strange scenes.
We visited the Kawazu Bagatelle Garden that was just opened on April 28, 2001. Then dances of French Folk Dancers just started. They enjoyed dancing with music. Some dance was similar to Japanese "Hana-Ichimonme". A lady was knitting lace.
On the entrance, there was an announcement that flowers bloom at 10% and entrance fees would not be refund due to the blooming ratio. Actually they did not bloom even at 10%. They say, by the middle of May, they will have full blooms. The rose garden was very large and when it comes to full bloom, I believe they would be very beautiful.

We had lunch at Restaurant Bagatelle. They served French cuisine and they were not so expensive and delicious. I was afraid of the traffic jam on the returning way due to May holidays. But after we left the garden at 2:00 PM, we arrived our home at 5:30 PM. We had dinner of lobsters that we bought in Izu. I am quite satisfied having a lot of lobsters.
