England's Newest Hit Makers (UK)April 16, 1964 - (1): May 2 - July 18 (US)May 30, 1964 - (11) : June 27 I have US version. Slow blues like "Honest I do" or "I'm a king bee" are good. Approach of "I just want to make love to you" is impressive. (Note Keith's guitar.) For me the best song of this album is "Walking the dog".

12X5 (US)October 17, 1964 - (3): November 14 (UK)January 16, 1965 - (1): March 6 I have US version. "Confessin' the blues" and "If you need me" are great. Nothing to say "Time is on my side". Bette Midler's "Under the boardwalk" is also good.

The Rolling Stones Now (US)February, 1965 - (5): March 20 "Heart of stone", "Pain in my heart" and "Little red rooster". And Chuck Berry's "You can't catch me" and "Down the road apiece". Becoming Stones like.

Out Of Our Heads (US)July, 1965 - (1): August 21 - September 4 I have US version. This album is GREAT ! Powerful "Mercy mercy", "That's how strong my love is" and "Cry to me". Two hit tunes, "The last time" and "Satisfaction". Bluesy "Spider and fly" is "tamaranai". Ballad of "Play with fire". Speed of "I'm alright". They completed Stones style rhythm and blues in this album.

december's children (US)November, 1965 - (4): December 11 "Get off of my cloud" and "As tears go by" are included. Live recorded "Rout 66" and "I'm movin' on". Impression of this album is a little bit light.

Aftermath (UK)April 15, 1966 - (1): April 30 (US)June, 1966 - (2): July 9 (UK version)(left photo is US version though.) They headed new direction creating originality. Many tunes are accoustic based. Brian's zither and marimba create exotic atmosphere. I think they started trial and error from this album for sounds, lylics and instruments. "Mother's little helper", "Lady Jane", "Under my thumb" and "Out of time" are still cool. This was the first album of Stones I bought.

Between The Buttons (UK)January 20, 1967 - (3); January 28 (US)January 20, 1967 - (2): February 18 Continued from "Aftermath". I like "She smiled sweetly" and "Who's been sleeping here". Keith took a vocal in some part in "Something happened to me yesterday".

Their Satanic Majesties Request (US)November, 1967 - (2): December 23 (UK)December 8, 1967 - (3): December 23 I like this album. "Sing this all together" starts like a joke. Heavy guitar sound kicks off "Citadel". Bill sings "In another land" like he is in another land. Then, uuum, "2000 man". Here,"My name is a number.....I am a 2000 man" and having "an affair with a random computer". On side B, beautifull "She's a rainbow"! I feel an image of temple of the Himalayas or Tibet from "Gomper". And cool "2000 light years from home". Last tune "On with the show". I am proud of having this album of 3D jacket. This is one of heirloom of my family. But this album is also a little bit far from their own way.

Beggar's Banquet (US)November, 1968 - (5): January 18 to 25, 1968 (UK)December 5, 1968 - (3): December 28 This is a great album. "Sympathy for the devil" of satanic mood. Here Keith plays thrilling guitar. "No expectations", what a bottle neck guitar and piano ! Country blues, "Dear Doctor" and bluesy "Parachute woman". What can a poor boy do in "Street fighting man" ? Keith's guitar in "Prodigal son". I heard that this is from Luke. Blues rock, "Stray cat blues" and country-like "Factory girl". And the last song, "Salt of the earth". (This title is also from bible.) This album starts from a guy standing around Pilate, Tzar in Russia, Kennedy, etc. Then a man leaving town who would not return, people demonstrating on the street, a man returning home who once left, groupies, a girl working in a factory. Then Keith sings "Let's drink to the hard working people....". I have imported one with original (or conpromized) cover. "Beggar's banquet" is very very precious for me.

Let It Bleed (US)November 28, 1969 - (3): December 27 to January 3 (UK)December 5 , 1969 - (1): December 20 This is still BEST in Stones's more than 30 years history. Famous "Gimmie shelter". One of Robert Johnson's masterpiece, "Love in vain", ('Blue light was my baby and red light was my mind.') "Contry honk" arranged "Honky tonk women" in country style. Standard rock, "Live with me". And Stones like "Let it bleed". "Midnight rambler" in rigid structure. Keith's first lead vocal song, "You got the silver". This was used in "Zabriskie Point" by Antonioni. This tune is the last one that Brian played. Junky song, "Monkey man". Last song is "You can't always get what you want". When I listened to this record for the first time and turned it to side B, I dropped it as I was too excited and almost shivering. So I had listened to "You got the silver" and "Monkey man" with noise till I bought CD after 20 years.
