Giulietta meets two sorts of the spirits (Iris and Susy) in this story.
I suppose Fellini wanted to describe fear and happiness inside ourselves through these two spirits.
Giulietta is an ordinary woman who has loneliness, emptiness, jealousy, and an inferiority complex of her beauty compare to her mother and sisters.
Her husband has another woman, this causes Giulietta despair. But she ends up to overcome her inside fear, releases herself, and faces straight to her inside happiness.
The magnificent point of this movie is rich visuality, brilliant full of colored objects even though this was the Fellini's first color movie. At least as for this point, it's very much worth to check out.
