Happend to see a Japanese drum team at the harvest festival the other day.

Japanese drum ("Wa-daiko" in Japanese) was originally used for signaling during battles, farming and etc.

Its main use changed from simple signaling device to musical instrument as peaceful period arrived.

Made of leather and Japanese cypress, cedar or hemlock.
