"I've always heard that Prince Edward Island was the prettiest place in the world, and I used to imagine I was living here, but I never really expected I would."
"The Island" was called as "Abegweit" which meant "Cradled by the Waves" in Micmac word.
When PEI was annexed to France, it was called as "St. Jean". After it was annexed to UK,
it was called as "St. John". Afterward, 1799 AD, it was renamed as Prince Edward Island
for the prince of George III.
However, the most of the Island is occupied by "Kings" and "Queens". They have the towns
named for the king and queen (Georgetown and Charlottetown). Surely, there is "Prince"
in the west part of PEI, but it has no town named for the prince. Moreover, there are
"Kings", "Queens" and "Prince", but there is not "Princess". If there were "Princess",
PEI was perfect. =)
Why isn't there the town named for the prince (Edwardtown)?
Why isn't there "Princess" on the Island? Didn't George III have any princess?
Or is there an island named for her elsewhere?
