What
I have done after the bike trip
|
Biking
across Canada
surely changed my life, but here are other experiences that have made who I
am now.
Feb-Mar
1999 – Biked in New Zealand
Oct 1999 –
Apr 2001 – Worked part-time at Patagonia, which changed my life a little bit.
Dec 1999
– Biked from Bangkok to Singapore
Mar 2000
– Finished undergrad
Apr 2000
– Started master’s just because I wanted to have more free time, and it
didn’t take me a week to realize it was a big mistake
May 2001 –
Feb 2001 – Went to India for internship on the excuse that I
want to experience the life in developing country, but virtually because I
knew I was not going to be able to finish my master’s thesis in a year.
It turned out to be an experience that brought a Copernican change to my
life.
Mar 2003
– Managed to finish master’s with a thesis which is based on bullshit.
Mar 2003 – Came down with Achalasia,
which is basically benign but I have to fight with for the rest of life. It
has changed my way of thinking toward life to a great extent.
Apr 2003 till
present – Working for the government, though I don’t think I’m
that patriotic

What
I do when I am not working
|
-
Still biking (once competitively, but now more for fitness)
- Having a mentally-filling time with my girlfriend
- Playing in a band (breaking up in Nov 2004) >>> will upload some sound samples soon
- Practicing Yoga intermittently (so I never get better).
- Reading books (My favorite is Haruki Murakami)
- Looking for anything that brings the peace of my mind
|
Physical
Change
(will upload a picture)
|
Put
lots of weight after the trip, of course.
Lost some weight in India.
Put on more weight after I left India.
Put on even more weight when I was writing my thesis.
But lost my weight now because of dietary change, my disease (achalasia) and biking to my office.
