SWALLOW E
SWALLOW

At MOTOKATATA Otsu-city SHIGA Japan, May 30, 1997.
Near KATATA where I lives, lots of swallows are particularly at HONKATATA. At MOTOKATATA, many nests appear at any home since it is an old town.
They come to Japan in March, and start nesting in Appril. Chicks appear in bowl-like nests from May to July. Also after leaving their nests, they are fed by their parents for two or more weeks. Such juveniles which have just left their nests are called "fledglings".
