Gray Starling
Gray Starling

In the field, Shiga, Feb. 13, 1997.
@I had lived in Nara for ten years till this February. In the beginning of autumn, I would often see a flock of about 200 gray starlings on electric cables right near my home. 5 or 6 of such flocks appeared in the neighborhood in the mornings and evenings from autumn to winter. The flocks of birds flew home to roostin a wood about 50m away from my home at every night. They rare made flocks from spring to summer. Seeing gray starlings coming together on the electric cables, I felt autumn coming.
