Little Egret
Little Egret

In the MANO-RIVER, Shiga, April 8, 1997.
While egrets are so beautiful that I never get tired of looking at them. The bird waits for fish at the edge of the bank or in the river while craning the neck. The action of the bird is not so quick, but he (or she) can catch fish, maybe by the effect of his (or her) long neck.
As you know, egrets and herons fly bending the neck in the shape of S. When I see their proper posture, I suspect the long neck may be a drag on their flight.
