サウンドカード対応の通信プログラム『MixW2』の最新バージョン version 2.03
(Feb 8, 2002) を用いて、TNC を使わずに衛星AO-16 の PSK信号をデコードする
実験を行っています。もう少しの所まで来ましたので、その途中報告をします。
衛星AO-16 経由のデジピートについて投稿した私の記事に関連して、amsat-bb上
で行われた討論が、サウンドカードを使用した PSK信号の受信の話しに発展し、
その中で、G6LVB/Howard Long 氏から、このサウンドカード対応のプログラムを
紹介されました。
このプログラムは、UT2UZ/Nick Fedoseev, UU9JDR/Denis Nechitailov 両氏によ
り作成されたもので、SSB, AM, FM, CW, BPSK31, QPSK31, FSK31, RTTY, Amtor,
Pactor, Packet, MFSK, MT63, Hellshreiber, SSTV 等 ほとんど全てのデジタル
モードに対応している 強力なプログラムです。
この最新バージョン 2.03 では、9600bps/G3RUH形式 の信号も、TNC を使わずに
サウンドカードのみで受信できるようです。次に、衛星AO-16 の PSK信号を受信
するための、『MixW2』における設定手順を示します。(by G6LVB/Howard Long)
1. MixW203 を、下記ホームページからダウンロードする。
2. 空のディレクトリに解凍し、MixW2.exe プログラムを実行する。
3. 最初に実行すると個人データ入力を促されるので、コールサイン,
名前, QTH, ロケーター、他の必要なデータを入力する。
4. Configure -> Soundcard Settings を選択し、使用している
サウンドカードを指定し、Full Duplex にチェックを入れる。
5. Mode -> Packet を選択し、パケットモードにする。
6. Mode -> Mode Settings, General タブにおいて、
the Modulator/demodulator type の項目の中で
VHF 1200 packet (satellite PSK) を選択する。
7. Mode -> Mode Settings, Parameters タブにおいて、
Enable Full Duplex にチェックを入れる。
8. Configure -> Disable Soundcard にチェックが入っていない
ことを確認する。
9. 以上の設定で、PSKデータを受信することができる。
10. 未確認の送信実験
Mode -> Mode Settings, Beacon/Monitor タブ
-> Source call [JE9PEL]
Dest call [CQ]
Digis [PACSAT]
Beacon text [Hello from JE9PEL]
Enable Beacon にチェックを入れる。
本日(2/26)、衛星AO-16 の PSK信号を、MixW203(サウンドカード対応)を用いて
解読することに初めて成功しました。

同調が大変に難しいです!!! この時に受信保存した下記の画像 20226a16.gif,
20304a16.jpg において、綺麗なスペクトル線を見ることができます。
MixW2 を用いて、衛星AO-16 の PSK信号を受信表示させるコツを掴みました。
無線機のAFC機能を OFF にし、AO-16 からの PSK信号のスペクトルの最も高い
槍の先端部が、MixW2 を "スペクトル表示" にした時に表れる赤い小さな旗と
重ね合わさるように、無線機からの受信周波数を手動で合わせると、その瞬間
に、MixW2 の画面に AO-16 の PSK信号がデコードされていきます。

I believe that the latest MixW32 V2 supports the BPSK 1200bps downlink
and may also support the MFSK uplink although I never tried the uplink.
Nearly a year ago I did some testing of the pre-release MixW32 V2.0 on
the BPSK 1200bps downlink and used Douglas KA2UPW's UPW program
http://members.aol.com/dquagliana/upw/ on the uplink. I successfully
digipeated packets on AO-16 but using two different packages was not the
most elegant solution!
You may wish to try MixW32 to see if it will do both uplink and downlink
now.

And in the 12 years since launch, we now have SOUND cards that can
decode the PSK data and so NO SPECIAL HARDWARE is required. Just plug
UHF allmode receiver into sound card, and we now will have another COMM
satellite for anyone to use... Look at the popularity of PSK-31 and
AO40RCV software.
If someone would just write the PSK software, then everyone could use
these AO-16, LO-19 and IO-26 digipeaters as easy as PSK-31...

PSK31 in MixW32 or Hamscope is a new mode in amateur radio
communication. PSK(LSB, USB) mode in AO-16 is a standard mode,
therefore we can't decode AO-16 PSK beacon with MixW32 or Hamscope.
I'm going to test if AGWPE can decode it.
(AGPWE could not decode PSK beacon.)

So how do you configure MixW 2.03 http://tav.kiev.ua/~nick/mixw2/
to receive AO-16 from a brand new CLEAN install?
o Download the MixW203 and extract the files to a clean directory
o Run the MixW2.exe program
o First time you run it you'll be asked for personal data - enter Call,
Name, QTH, Locator and any other details you choose.
o Configure -> Soundcard Settings, select the soundcard you use and
check Full Duplex is selected
o Mode -> Packet, selects the packet mode
o Mode -> Mode Settings, General tab, select VHF 1200 packet
(satellite PSK) in the Modulator/demodulator type
o Mode -> Mode Settings, Parameters tab, select Enable Full Duplex
o Make sure Configure -> Disable Soundcard is NOT ticked
o You should be able to receive data now
o Experimental (I never got this bit to work) is the uplink.
Mode -> Mode Settings, Beacon/Monitor tab, Source call [yourcall],
Dest call CQ, Digis PACSAT, Beacon text Hello from Howard,
Enable Beacon
