Late at night, when you were away ---

[夜遅く､ 君の不在のときに --- ]

I want you
to write graffiti on my walls
if I can write graffiti on yours,
this is a very poor way of avoiding telling you I love you
when I have not yet decided what I want to write
I love you, forgive me my distractions
Late at night when the bars are closed
the American people walk the streets of their minds
they are short streets
most people get tickets for over parking
they deserve the tickets

[私の壁に君の落書きを書いて欲しい
もし私が君の壁に落書きを書けるとしたら
これは"君を愛している"と直接伝えることを避ける極めて拙い方法である
私はまだ何を書きたいか決めていない
私は君を愛する､ 私の気まぐれを許して欲しい
夜遅く､ 酒場が閉まると
アメリカの人々は思い思いの通りを歩き始める
短い通りを
ほとんどの人は駐車超過のチケットを受ける
しかしそれだけの値打ちはある通りだ]

[我々はみんな同じという訳ではない
我々はみんな愛し合っているということでもない]

a breakfast of nothing
with you
is worth more than
a million meals with no one
I love you

[朝食に何もなくても
君と一緒であれば
誰もいない百万の食事よりも
価値がある
私は君を愛する]
