Lentinus edodes 1

Lentinus edodes, well known as Shiitake in common name, is a delicacy of Chinese and Japanese dishes. Thanks to wide spread cultivation, we can find them any time any place in the market. Wild material is scarce and valuable although they grow almost through the year.

On 22nd April, 2000, I found special large size. I named him " Vader". See the photo.

This specimen was found on 13th Dec. 1998 on the laid oak at the cliff of Mt. Tanzawa.
