マンハッタンのキノコ　　　

2000年7月27日から8月10日までニューヨークに出張した。　仕事のない週末はマンハッタンでキノコ探しをした。

ニューヨークまで行って何故キノコなんだ？、と聞く勿れ。　グリニッジビレッジのファッションも確かに面白い。　でも自然の作品・キノコ１本の佇まいには遠く及ばないのだ。　華やかでソフィスティケートされたニューヨークよりも、大都会に息づくキノコ達を僕は迷うことなく選んだ。　

聖句のひそみにならえば、「栄華をきわめしマンハッタンも、その装い、このキノコのひとつだに、及ばざりき。」　なのである。

Fungi in Manhattan

I had a biz. trip to New York from 27^th July to 10^th Aug., 2000. I could meet beloved mushroom there.

For me all attractions in New York are not so valuable as mushroom. It is like the Book saying, " Not even Manhattan with all their wealth and elegance had clothes as beautiful as one of these mushrooms".
