I feel summer coming soon when Russula family are found in the field. Russula cyanoxantha is seen close to the oak and/or the other broad-leaf tree early summer. Their color varies from place to place. Some are purple like the below specimen. Some are greenish, pink and olive.
Tasting the raw material in the mouth to distinguish from pungent Russula , I feel it like creamy substance. They are highly regarded in taste within Russula family.
