Lactarius hatsutake
In Japan, they will be valued as No.1 Russulaceae among many Russula species without argument. I love their taste and aroma of autumn as material of Japanese style soup.
Meantime, Japanese name "Hatsutake" means early mushroom. As their name suggests, they are usually found at the beginning of mushrooming season, i.e., mid/end September. This year, they seem to be nervous to appear.
