Lyophyllum decastes

They grow any place where buried wood exists. For example, they are sometimes found on the ground of abandoned sawmill. On 9th May, I found them at the slope of athletic ground where lots of lumber were buried at the time of the construction several years ago.

In the meantime, I did not expect to meet them early May because usually we can see them from the end May to mid November. I have no idea.

The taste is, I believe, one of the best of all. Especially, the younger material is beaut.

P.S. They are in the prime of life end October this year. Please see the better specimen. (28th Oct., 1999)

They are still young, but delicious.
