Lactarius volemus
We Japanese call them "Milky mushroom". They grow in the hottest season Japan. This was first time for me to find this species in Tanzawa area. In my home town, people know little about this mushroom. But some other local area like Tochigi prefecture, people are crazy to gather them in the season. It is interesting that the regional difference is very remarkable in case of the taste of mushroom. Tochigi pref. is not so far from our place.
