El Salvador which belonged to the Maya civilization zone was governed by Spain for 300 years since 1524, became independent in 1821, passed through participation / division to Central America federation comprising 5 countries such as Guatemala and was born as an independent nation in 1841. The 20th century began, and it was confusion in continuation of a military coup, and in 1990' peace negotiation started it under the intermediation of the United Nations, and an agreement was formed in 1992, and a civil war terminated.
Two kinds of normal stamps and three kinds of airmail stamps which it drew birds on were issued by El Salvador of Central and South America in 1980. The birds of the Central and South America special product are drawn neatly. Each four kinds, six kinds birds stamp was issued in 1993 year, 1998 year.
