It switched a policy to free economy from deadlock of economy after 1980's began and changed the name of a country in the Republic of Madagascar in 1992.
Four kinds of normal stamps were issued from big island country Madagascar which appears on the southeast in Africa in 1966. The design of the insect of the Madagascar specialty is adopted.
Four kinds of beetle stamps with a donation to the World Wide Fund for Nature were issued in 1988.
Seven kinds of beetle stamps were issued in 1994.
