Insect Stamp of GuineaInsect Stamp of GuineaA Portuguese went ashore in Guinea in the 15th century and Guinea became the base of the slave trade of Portugal, but Guinea became the French possession at the end of 19th century and was admitted into the French West Africa federation. However, Guinea became independent from France and became the Republic of Guinea in October, 1958.
Six kinds of insect stamps were issued from this independent Republic of Guinea in 1973.
Six kinds of beetle stamps and one kind of small sheets were issued in 1998.
Four kinds of ant & bee stamps were issued also in 2001.
Three kinds of beetle stamps and one kind of small sheets and three kinds of ant stamps and one kind of small sheets were issued in 2013.
