Insect Stamp of Barbados

Barbados is an island country at the easternmost end of West Indies Lesser Antilles, Grenada is located in west and Trinidad and Tobago is located in southwest. Since 1627, it has been under British rule for over 300 years. In 1958, it joined the British West Indies Federation along with Jamaica. It gained self-government in 1961, and following the dissolution of the British West Indies Federation, it gained independence as a constitutional monarchy within the British Commonwealth in 1966. Even after independence, the country has maintained a stable political situation, which is rare for the region, and while it has adopted a pro-American stance, it has also established diplomatic relations with Cuba, North Korea, and other countries.
Four kinds of insect stamps were issued from this Barbados in 1990.
