ボルガ川はモスクワより、カザンまで約700kmを東に向かって流れ、そこから南下する。Nizhny Novgorod はほぼその中間にある工業都市である。

　River Wolga runs toward east from north of Moscow to Kazan, where it changes direction toward south. Nizhny Novgorod is an industrial city located in the middle of both cities.
