This phrase, the name of the opera, is literally "fire house". The word for "house" tuq does not refer to dwelling, however, even refer to a family or an ancester unit.
この文句はオペラの題名で、直訳すると「炎一族」となる。英語の house（家）に当たる語 tuq は建物ではなく、「家系」「家族」「一族」などを指す。

The first word in this phrase no' is always plural, and therefore never cause the plural suffix. It means "ancestors". The second word is DIr, literally "skin" or "hide". Although the ancestor hanging is no longer neccesarily made of hide that were ont time worn, the name of the wall hanging did not change when it's material composition did.
この語句の１番目の単語の no' は常に複数を意味し、従って複数接尾辞は決して取らない。２番目の単語の DIr は「皮膚」や「皮」の意である。かつては本物の皮を剥いでつくられた先祖の掛け物も、もはや皮でつくる必要はなくなっている。しかし、材質が変わってもこの壁掛けの名称は変わらずにいる。
