Studies on Jaki Liebezeit, ex. Can drummer
ヤキ・リーベツァイトはドイツのミュージシャンで、優れたドラマーです。1960年代はフリージャズのグループManfred Schoof Quintetに参加し、68年から特異なロックグループCanの一員として参加。70年代以後はドイツ国内外の様々なミュージシャンのアルバムに参加しています。今年1997年には、ダモ鈴木の日本公演に参加する予定でしたが果たせずに終わりました。彼の参加作品を紹介します。
Jaki Liebezeit is a quite a excellent drummer in Germany. He started his career in free jazz group Manfred Schoof Quintet in 1960's, then joined to extraordinary german rock group Can. He also contributed to various musician inside and outside Germany. In 1997 he was scheduled to visit Japan on the tour of Damo Suzuki band, which resulted to replaced by another drummer (Mani Neumeier, though himself played best then). Here I intend to introduce his fascinating works from Can and ex-Can albums.
