August 16
It cleared up well today.
1.Boyle Abbey
It was written one of ruins where the most impression abbey in Ireland according to a certain sightseeing guide of the locale. Beautiful and large pillars were left. Here was not only a mere monasteryan but also an aspect of one large fort as the army.

2.Carrick-on-Shannon
It was a town which side by the Shannon river. It was a base of boat trip of the Shannon river (travel around the canal and the river staying at the ship). It was a very small town but busy a little bit.
There was the smallest chapel in Ireland named Costello Chapel. It was the smallest in the second also in the world.
I asked a person in tourist information which was the smallest chapel in charge in the world, but she did not know. Does anyone teach me?

3.Roscommon
It was a state capital in the Roscommon state. The population was only about 6,000 persons even if it was the state capital. It was a calm, antique, good town. There were ruins in a considerably big castle and I thougt after the prosperity of old times here.
In addition, there had been a prison where the last woman capital punishment prison in Ireland. The prison faced the plaza in the town and the building went out to sales now. I worried about whether anyone would buy it.

4.Thoor Ballylee Castle
Having entered the mountain from the town named Gort in about 7Km, we reached a castle named Thoor Ballylee Castle. The reason why here was made famous was that Yeats(poet) had lived more than 10 years and written a lot of books.
Materials including the desk and the chair which Yeats had used were exhibited now. Anyway soup of potato which I ate here was very delicious.

5.Hurlers Cross
We stayed at hotel near Shannon airport because my flight for London was early morning at the next day.
August 17
I had to left from Prf.Miyazaki, Mr.Kato and Miss Masaki at the hotel in the morning. Because I went back from Shannon but they would back from Dublin. I returned a rent-a-car and borded a plane to London. That was the end of my travel in Ireland. I drove about one thousand kilometre.
Thank you very much because you read tedious reading. However, it was sure that I could not write all things that I had experinced in Ireland. It is very very nice of Ireland!
I would be happy if you were interested in Ireland.
My best regards, Yutaro Suzuki
