DX LOGGINGS------------------------------------------------------------
3264.6 RRI Gorontalo. Suddenly signed off at 2103 with Jakarta news relay.
ID at 2106 then Islamic religious program. Fair to poor.
(Feb 26, 1999, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
3385 RRI Kupang. SCI mixed with and over Rabaul PNG at 1159 with fair level
,
before Jakarta news at 1200. (Feb 26, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
3395.1 RRI Bandar Lampung. With earliest of the Sumateran Long Path peaks.
Fair at 2245 6 March. (Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
4000 RRI Padang. Peeks through briefly Long Path around 2315 with brief
opening. (Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
4003.2 RRI Padang. 2325-2331, bits of Indonesian talk by woman, not sure if
still Jakarta relay at this time or local program. Solid carrier until
fade-down began soon after 2330 but low audio, mostly under RTTY
(on USB) and ham chatter (on LSB).
(Mar 6, 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
4766 RRI Medan. *2259-2320, fairly solid carrier but faint SCI, then Jakart
a
news opened by man, then by woman to 2315, after which a lengthy talk
until near 2330 when audio faded out. Low level audio peaked around
2315-2320. Fair signal on //9680kHz. Thanks Tony Ward tip. Wonder how
long this reactivation will last?
(Feb 20, 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
4766 RRI Medan. 2305-2332, first noted with weak carrier gradually building
until 1215 when some audio of Jakarta news by man could be detected.
Anthem following news at 2323, then a couple of modern vocal
selections until local IS at 2330. The IS consisted of about 11 notes
played 3 times on a wind instrument sounding rather like a piccalo.
Local male announcer after that was soon lost as signal faded into
noise. Weak audio at best but the peak at around 2320 implies a near-
grayline Long Path, splitting the difference between my receiver SS
at 2301 and xmtr SR at 2338 on this date.
(Feb 25, 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
4766 RRI Medan. 2325-2331, very good carrier strength but weak only weak
bits of audio talk - not sure if local program or not since I did not
detect the usual local IS at 2330.
(Mar 6, 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
4789.1 RRI Fak Fak. Weak with Jakarta news at 1203. The same day Biak peaked
so unusually strong. (Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
4874.49 RRI Sorong, 1158-1208 Feb 22, Easy listening music to local announcer
at 1150:30, leaving time for only a few notes of SCI before cutover
to Jakarta relay: time pips, generic ID and into news, still going at
1208 tune-out. Fairly good signal. Also at 1145 on Feb 24, poor
signal noted in passing; gone at 1204 recheck so it closed this date
before instead of after the 1200 Jakarta news.
(Feb 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
4925.0 RRI Jambi. Usually switches from 4925kHz to 4927kHz at 1400, but still
heard past 1400 on Fen28. Until 1410 male talk, then dangdut music.
ID was heard at 1430 and 1517. Local pops was haed at 1430 and Jakarta
news was at 1500. Fair. Also heard at 1525 on Mar 8 of irregular time
schedule. Until 1529 local pops then ID by male as "Programa Satu,
Radio Republik Indonesia Jambi", Maluku Island's traditional music
and male talk program at 1530. Fair signal.
(Feb 28 & Mar 8, 1999, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
4925 RRI Jambi. Good at 2258 with SCI to Jakarta news.
(Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
5040 RRI Pekanbaru. Fair mixed with but on top of Tbilisi at 2258 with SCI
to Jakarta news. (Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
6153.45 RRI Biak. At fair level from 1150. Indonesian pop music interrupted
with what was presumably the closing announcement by man. Audio low
on speech, good on music. Single phrase of SCI at 1159* and audio
and carrier cut. Absent (as usual) on March 7th at same time.
(Mar 6, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
15125 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. Running parallel to 15150kHz with same
Indonesian music program and good level on Feb 26th. 15150kHz has
been absent most mornings here. Also parallel a very good Cuba-free
11760kHz this day (This National channel variably closes 1500 to
1518). 15150kHz to 1300*. SCI noted on 9630kHz at 1259 same day.
A March 3rd cruise at 2259 caught SCI's on 9565kHz (weak), 9630kHz
(fair), 15125kHz (fair and in clear), and 11860kHz (good, in clear
till 2300). 11860kHz often runs S7 to 9 here around 2240 on the Long
Path. (Feb 26 & Mar 3, 1999, Tony Ward, CANADA)
15149.82 V.O. Indonesia, Cimanggis. 1850-1905, talk by woman in German to
program closing announcements with frequencies by man at 1853,
followed by English announcement of upcoming program in French at
1900. Full-length Love Ambon to 1856, then dead air across the hour
and next program audio had not shown by the time I tuned away at 1905.
(Feb 20, 1999, David M. Clark, CANADA)
15150 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. Now not heard Programa Nasional Dua at local
morning and local evening. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
DX NEWS----------------------------------------------------------------
I received a letter from RSPD Serang. The letter says the station operates
720kHz and 96.70MHz only and now does NOT use short wave frequency. Roland
Schulze, PHIPPINES, reported this station on 3165.2vkHz at the end of
December 1998(See Jembatan DX No.65). There is a contradiction between this
letter and Schulze's report. Did the station operate on short wave at the
end of December only? It is necessary to investigate more details.
(Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
News program entitled "Berita Ibukota" which had been heard at 0100 by RRI
Jakarta's Programa Nasional Satu and Programa Nasional Dua, was not found
now. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
