DX LOGGINGS------------------------------------------------------------
3158v Unidentified. Indonesian, 1243-1325, possibly an Indonesian amatir
(pirate). This one has been heard at times on previous DXpeditions
to the WA coast. Frequency always varies rapidly +/- .4 kHz around
3158kHz, and modulation is a horrible mess. Programing consists of
Indonesian rock music and infrequent, unpredictable brief
announcements (song titles?). The language is recognizable as
Indonesian, and I've never caught even a hint of an ID, although the
signal has been fair-good at times. The lack of SCI, Jakarta relay,
anthems, etc. points to an unlicensed broadcaster. Also, I think
it's significant that 3158kHz has been vacant on local Sunday
(Indonesian Monday) evenings--perhaps this station is a student
doing his free radio thing on weekends only. In the 1980s, a couple
of RPDs were active between 3155kHz and 3164kHz, but they've been
off for years. Always one of the more tantalizing DX signals heard
here. Comments from Aussie DXers welcome!
(Nov 28 & 29, 1998, Guy Atkins-Ocean City State Park DXpedition via
Numero Uno No.1504)
3905.0 RRI Merauke. Christmas music at 1132 and followed to English music
program. Jakarta news relay at 1200 which was not heard SCI before
the hour. ID at 1221 then "Angkatan Bersenjata" prodeced by own
studio but same theme music as the program produced by RRI Jakarta.
After theme music, the modulation became low. Fair to poor.
(Dec 13, 1998, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
4789.9 RRI Fak Fak. "Kang Guru Radio English Show" at 1015 which is still
heard every Tuesday. 3 pieces of English pops at 1022. ID by female
at 1032 as "Radio Republik Indonesia Fak Fak" then pop music
program. Poor. (Dec 8, 1998, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
4925 RRI Jambi. 1600-1652*, running late today, with the shortened news
from Jakarta at 1600-1604. Radio Republik Indonesia Jambi ID by
woman, to Indonesian pops, closing at 1652*. As always, good signal
when using this frequency compared to alternative 4927vkHz.
Something on 3355.5vkHz, too weak to ID for //. Not heard the next
day at this time, heard later in the week around 1545 on 4927vkHz.

FOLLOW UP--------------------------------------------------------------
About Zacharias Liangas's tip of Jembatan DX No.61, he reported RRI Jakarta on
11860kHz at 1300*. But I doubt this as Indonesian service of Voice of Asia,
Taiwan. I can hear Taiwan instead of Indonesia on 11860kHz at 1300*.
(Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
About Gaku Iwata's tip of Jembatan DX No.62, he reported Voice of Malaysia's
announcement in Voice of Indonesia program on 11785kHz at 0801. I also
heard Voice of Malaysia announcement on 11785kHz at 0835 on Dec 8. The
program was consisted of music and topics in Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar,
Philippines, etc. I presume this program is produced by the cooperation
with Voice of Malaysia. Other cases of the program which produced in
cooperation with station outside Indonesia, are seen the program in RRI
Jakarta with R.TV Malaysia, and RRI Jakarta with R. TV Brunei. Both
programs are heard at 0405 and 0800 on every Sunday.
