STATION PROFILE--------------------------------------------------------

RSPD Bekasi:
Akbar Indra Gunawan, Herbert Sunu, who are member of Indonesia DX Club,
and I visited Radio Siaran Pemerintah Daerah Tigkat 2 Bekasi on 14
August 1998. We charterd a taxi from Jakarta to Bekasi. Bekasi situates
in the east from Jakarta. It took about 1 hour by a taxi. We met and
interviewed to T. Sumartono, Kepaala Stasiun of RSPD Bekasi. The
station started its broadcasting in 1968. At that time, the station
name was Studio Radio Daerah Bekasi. In 1994 the name changed to Radio
Siaran Pemerintah Daerah Tingkat 2 Bekasi. The station have operated
in shortwave of 96.3meters from 1968 to 1985 and received the
reception reports on shortwave from only one Australian DXer every
3months regularly. From 1985 to 1992, the station used variable
frequencies. Since 1992, 855kHz has been used. No plan of change to
FM frequency. The transmitter was made in Bandung and the power is
500-750W. The engineers are Hartono who is a chief and Derianto.
Hartono came from RRI. Now RRI Jakarta news is relayed almost
on the hour. Also the station has original newscast "Lintas Berita".
This is heard in the future program between 0600-0900(Local AM).
The station has many other programs. For example, information from
government at Bekasi, agriculture, lagu populer and dangdut,
traditional music, education for elementary school, program for
children, etc. After we finished the interview, I took photos
of the studio, the transmitters and the bradcasting house with
   T. Sumartono, Akbar Indra Gunawan, and Herbert Sunu.
                                             (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
