DX LOGGINGS----------------------------------------------------------------
3172.9V Unidentified. first reported by Martin last week. 1108 with
Jakarta news, then straight into pop music when news ended at
1110. A bit of talk over the music, but nothing that sounded
like an ID. Wobbly transmitter with poor audio. My guess is
that this is Halmahera, which was around 3130 last fall.
(May 19, Hans Johnson via Cumbre DX No.191)
3175.2 Unidentified. 1240-1308, relay RRI Jakarta, 1300-1308 Bagimu
Negri, //3344.8 now local progr again. Very weak signal.
Active around this time. Another UNID on v3375, bad modulation
and weak signal strength.
(Apr 26, Roland Schulze-PHL via BC-DX No.365)
3178.78 Unidentified. Caught the end of news from Jakarta at 1318 with
anthem. They went straight to music at this point, fading into
the noise by 1330.
(May 12,Steve Martin via Cumbre DX Special Edition)
3264.6 RRI Gorontalo. ID by female at 1047 as "Radio Republik Indonesia
Gorontalo" then local pops. IS at 1059 and followed to local
news "Berita Berita...". Ending music of local news was "Garuda
Pancasila". At 1106 ID again as "Inilah Radio Republik Indonesia
Gorontalo". Fair. (May 10, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
3375.5v Unidentified. Local pops at 1354. Signed off at 1405. Very
poor. (May 26, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
3541.9 RPDT2 Sumba Timur(presumed). First log since last November and
still best in LSB. 1124 talk, followed by music that went through
1130. Faded before 1200. The music was good, but the announcers
were a bit low. (May 26, Hans Johnson via Cumbre DX No.192)
3960.4 RRI Palu. May 6 2056 lagu Arab, 2100 Jakarta nx. On May7 *2058,
local mx, then local ID at 2059. However, on May 8 they were
already on air by 2047, and on May 9 they were not on at 2100,
but they were on by 2119 recheck; so certainly variable s/on.
Earlier than listed *2130. Stronger than Padang when it signs
on, though signal level doesn't take long to drop.
(David Foster-OZ via Numero Uno No.1475)
3985.7 RRI Surabaya. 1018 basically just audio with QRM from 3985-Echo
of Hope. (May 5, David Foster-OZ via Numero Uno No.1475)
3987.1 RRI Manokwari. 1018 reactivated with lagu hiburan, weak but clear.
They had been inactive for perhaps as long as a year.
(May 5, David Foster-OZ via Numero Uno No.1475)
4000.0 RRI Padang. IS at 1530 then ID by male and followed to local
news. Poor. (May 25, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
4026.5, Unidentified. 1630 dangdut mx on the night of Suharto's
resignation. No anmts hrd, OK modulation. Probably a one-off
operation. (May 21,David Foster-OZ via Numero Uno No.1477)
4753.4 RRI Ujung Pandang. Special live program including of reading of
Holy Koran at 1212. Other RRI station relayed Jakarta news at
this time. Fair. (May 26, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
4927.0 RRI Jambi. Local music like lagu Melayu at 1417. ID at 1426 as
"Radio Republik Indonesia Jambi" then local pops. //3355.3.
Fair. (May 26, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
5030.4 RRI Sibolga(presumed). 2138 May 8 quite good with lagu qasidah,
2145 Islamic recitation or similar, 2157 call to prayer. On May
9 at *2141 without anmt, then prgms as previous day with the
addition of both call to prayer and nx at 2200 for a minute
before they realised the error. Mx came through okay, local anmts
were down in the mud and impossible to decipher. Audio faded out
at 2230, and the carrier faded arnd 2300. Again at 1242 May 10,
but very tough due to 5030-CNR1. First noted on this exact fqy
in Sep 1994, but joined the inactive list in April or May 1995.
(David Foster-OZ via Numero Uno No.1475)
6140.00 Unidentified. 2232 - 2245* end broadcast suddenly and end tx
also. reception very poor and fading badly by 2242. No //
frequency of RRI station, I could find, however 15150.00 kHz
started after the end of bc on 6140 kHz, at 2248 UTC, (15150
was not on before this time.) I could not find any listing of
Indonesian language broadcast on 6140.00 kHz. I did not find
anybody listing 6140.00 kHz as an RRI Jakarta station. Your help
would be appreciated. (Thanks information John. Unfortunately
it is impossible to pick up the station at this time in Japan due
to after sunrise in Japan, but please inform if DXers in other
area catched the station. -ed) (John Kecskes, AUSTRALIA)
6153.48 RRI Biak(presumed). 1245-1310, 23322-22322, Non stop local pops
until 1258, then talk by man 1258 Rayuan Pulau Kelapa,1300-1308
Jakarta news relay. Local ID could not heard because of weak
signal. (May 3, Takeshi Kanai via Japan Premium No.2)
9680.0 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. At 0958 SCI and "Warta Berita" at 1000.
ID by female at 1006 as "Inilah Radio Republik Indonesia Jakarta,
Programa Nasional Satu" then local pops. Usually this frequency
is Programa Nasional Dua. //9565,11760, & 15125. 15150 was not
heard today. (May 10, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
9680.0 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. 1235 "Warta Berita" including speech by
new president Dr B. J. Habibie. Fair.
(May 21, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
9680.0 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. "Kan Guru Radio English Show" at 1015.
Recently this English program was not heard at this time.
(May 31, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
9741.62 RRI Sorong. May 17,1155-1210*, local woman anncr to 1159:25 SCI,
Jakarta news relay at 1200 to anthem at 1209, short (unreadable)
closing anmt before carrier cut at 1210:30. Mostly weak with 1.8
filter in USB required to minimize difficult adjacent channel
slop. Noted Jakarta news fair and clear on //9680 which is often
inaudible; also // for news on 15125.07 at good level. These
channels carried Pgme I and II separately after the news. My 1st
log of Sorong on this channel during extended local evening sked
with 4874.6 again inactive, although I've logged it several times
when it was on typical daytime sked, from fade-up circa 0730 to
0757v s/off. While I was surprised to hear it more than 2 hrs
past my local 0950 SR, logging this 31mb outlet on the daytime
sked is actually much more difficult from Ontario. Further
monitoring since May 17: 1154-1157* May 18, NAm pop ballad to
fair peaks, then quick closing anmt at 1157 and carrier cut
immediately. ** 1145 May 19, carrier w/minimal audio thru slop,
off-air already at 1152 recheck. ** 1049-1055 May 21, weak-fair
at best and subject to fades with talk by the local woman anncr
on peaks thru heavy QRM. ** On 9741.60 at 1105-1110+ May 22
with presumed local news by woman anncr, not // Jakarta news as
on 9564.96 and 15125. Weak thru adjacent slop.
(May 17/18/19/21/22, David M.Clark, CANADA)
15125.0 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. "Fokus Berita" at 0700. "Angkatan
Bersenjata Republik Indonesia" at 0712. "Berita ABRI(military
news)" was not heard in the program today. Good.
(May 24, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
15125.0 RRI Jakarta, Cimanggis. ID of Programa Ibukota Satu at 0507
then English program entitled "Metropolitan English Service
Radio Republik Indonesia" including News at 0530 and "U.N.
Calling Asia" at 0540. "U.N. Calling Asia" is broadcasted
every Sunday. ID at 0558 as "Inilah Radio Republik Indonesia
Jakarta Programa Ibukota Satu" then SCI. "Warta Berita" at
0600. ID of Programa Ibukota again at 0610 and frequency anmt
of only 1332kHz & 99.8MHz then "Radio Hits" which is also from
Programa Ibukota Satu. At 0633 retuned to Programa Nasional
Satu. I don't know whether these program were heard only
today. (May 31, Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
DX NEWS-------------------------------------------------------------------
RRI Semarang in Central Java was taken over by student protesters on
Friday May-15. Student demands for political reform, reduced prices for
essential goods and a stop to violence, were read over the air by an
announcer at 2.15pm and again at 3.30pm. The 'takeover' proceeded
smoothly, with no major damage to the studio building. Hundreds of
security personnel standing by did not intervene. Also, At the height
of the disturbances in Jakarta, four armoured personnel carriers took
up position outside the RRI studios in Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat.
('Jakarta Post' newspaper reports, May-15 via Matt Francis
via EDXP No.88)
The Japanese program of Voice of Indonesia at 1130-1200 broadcasts news
everyday, but several days around the resignation of the President on
May 21, news was not heard. According to the station, Japanese staff
had returned to Japan and no staff had translated news from Indonesian
to Japanese. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
Ending music of RRI Jakarta news at 0600 & 1200 was changed.
(Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)
