I will take part in DX pedition at Kujukuri, Chiba from March 7 to March
9. It is very difficult to pick up non-RRI station on 2-3MHz at Tokyo 
where I live, so I am looking forward to this pedition. Of corse, I will
report nice loggings in the next issue. 

DX LOGGINGS----------------------------------------------------------------
 2580.35   RSPDT2 Sumba Timor. Here with lovely recorded prgm of Indo mx 
           with solid S8 level signal.  QRN from a local T-storm at 1250
           Feb 8.  Off the air early at 1305, after ID; normal s/off
           time is arnd 1400, with "Love Ambon."  Hrd daily. (Henderson
           said this station as Sumba Timor, but I presume this as Timor
           Tengah Selatan.-ed)

 2694      RPDT2 Ende. Here at 1252 Feb 7 with nice Indo mx prgm, S6 
           level, improving rapidly.  Also hrd with 5/S9 level at 1209 
           Feb 8 during RRI-Jakarta nx relay, into local prgmng, lovely 
           orch. mx, good ID for Ende several times.

 2899      RPDT2 Ngada. Here after relay from Jakarta at 1308 Feb 8, ID, 
           solid 5/S9 level.  Very nice signal, into talk, then pop mx;
           good modulation.

 3249.8    RRI Banjarmasin. "Siaran Pendidikan" of EG lesson at 1410.

 3264.8    RRI Bengkulu. Dangdut music at 1552. Closing anmt by male at
           1557 and signed off at 1558. Poor.

 3355.3    RRI Sumenep. SCI at 1859. Jakarta news relay at 1900. ID by 
           male at 1907, then wayang kulit. Poor.

 3541.9    RSPDT2 Sumba Timur. YL with talk at 1236 Feb 7, signal only S6.
           Nx prgm in progress.  Much better at 1120-1150 Feb 8 with pop 
           mx prgm and S8 signal.

 3646.06   RRI Fak Fak. Here after 1200 with nx, pops and C&W mx, good 
           level, poor modulation.  Hrd on 4789 prior to 1200.  This stn
           was audible every day after 1200-1230 UTC.

 4000.0    RRI Padang. Local pops at 1612. IS at 1630, ID as "Radio
           Republik Indonesia Padang dengan Ikhtisar Berita Daerah 
           dibacakan oleh..." then local news. Id was heard again at 1633
           then reading of Holy Koran. Fair.

 4074.8    RPDT2 Blitar. 1450-1500+ (presumed)  slow Indonesian pop tune,
           with muffled announcements by a woman at 1459.  Brief Song of 
           the Coconut Island and news from Jakarta at 1500, // others. 
           Heard the following day, drifting from 4075.25 to 4075.35.  
           Weak with poor audio.

 4074      RKPDK Blitar. 1234 Feb 7 with Indo mx, female vocals, S7

 4696.96   RKIP Surabaya. All night gamelan mx and wayang kulit play, 
           good at 1809 Feb 6.

 4753.3    RRI Ujung Pandang. 2056 Signed on with Azan, then Islamic 
           music. ID by male at 2058 as "Inilah Radio Republik Indonesia 
           Nusantara Empat Ujung Pandang", then SCI and followed to 
           Jakarta news relay at 2100. ID again at 2107 as "Inilah Radio
           Republik Indonesia Stasiun Nusantara Empat Ujung Pandang", 
           then male talk. At 2122 Lagu Qasidah. Fair.

 4777.1    RRI Jakarta. "Selamat Malam Indonesia" at 1345. Id was heard 
           at 1351 as "Programa Nasional Satu, Radio Republik Indonesia

 4874.5    RRI Sorong (presumed). Reactivated. Had been off since June 
           last year.  1153 with 70's pops host by woman. 1158 SCI, but

 4874.5    RRI Sorong. EG pops program at 1415. ID at 1440 as "Radio 
           Republik Indonesia Sorong, ... Programa Satu". SCI at 1459.
           Jakarta news relay at 1500. Suddenly signed off at 1501. Good.

 4875      RRI-Sorong. 10/S9 at 2013 Feb 8, call to prayer. Strong, with 
           some overmodulation. (I have not picked up the station in the 
           local early morning for several years.-ed)

 4925.0    RRI Jambi. Talk & instrumental music at 1332. ID by male at
           1336 as "Radio Republik Indonesia Jambi". Heard on this 
           frequency irregularly at this time. Fair.

 6070.98   RRI Jayapura. Here with S3 level signal at 0447 Feb 11, pop 
           Indo mx, vocals by man; ground wave thought to be the path, 
           but very weak.  Signal during the evening runs 20/S9.  Also at
           0744 Feb 16 with "Macarena," S7 signal.

 7173.35   RRI Serui. Supporting the Padula theory of no effective rcpn 
           in Australia below 9 MHz during the daytime, a weak but 
           readable signal at 0439 Feb 11, ID by man with readable 
           "Serui" in ID.  Stn is about 900 miles from Pt. Douglas.

 7234.27   RRI Palu(presumed). 0432 Feb 11 with S2 signal, and at 0742 
           Feb 16 with S6.  Indo mx, vocals by woman, hrd both days.  
           First time hrd this stn in 40 mb.

 7234.42   RRI Palu(presumed). Definitely here as late as 0752 Feb 14 
           with Indo pops; local noise from T-storm was heavy, but signal

11785.0    V.O.Indonesia, Cimanggis. At 0042 Indonesian pops program 
           including "Mutiara Cinta". Love Ambon with closing anmt in

11785      V.O.Indonesia, Cimanggis. 0102 W in EE w/nx incl items about 
           IMF and Indonesia's economic crisis. Fair and gaining strength, 
           battling w/Brasilian on 11785.14. //9525 even better and in

According to the letter from my pen friend at Medan who is a student of 
   Mahasiswa Universitas Sumatera Utara, R. Media Mahasiswa Universitas
   Sumatera Utara on 1440kHz has been inactive since 1992, but the 
   station has a plan to the reactivation in 1998(exact time is
