 5040 RRI Pekanbaru. 1305 & 1315, Indo woman anncr at 1305; Arabic-
influenced vocal at 1315 (this may have been typical of western
Indo stations not carrying the special pgme hrd on eastern
outlets since there are essentially no Christian communities
to my knowledge on Sumatra). Fair signal - not often heard
here. (Dec 27, David M. Clark, CANADA)

highly irregular Biak-6153.8v nor long term inactive Nabire-
6127.5, in spite of hope they might be back for Ramadan.
(Jan 3, David M. Clark, CANADA)

w/local pgme at 1410 recheck but most of the time buried under

7231.1 RRI FakFak. 1314-1316, woman ending Jak news, anthem, then

------------------------------------DX NEWS-------------------------------

On December 31(local Indonesian Time), many stations extend sign off
time for special program of New Year's Eve every year, but last year
was different from usual. Ramadan started on December 31, so almost
Indonesian station signed off at usual time. I only confirmed
extended program on 4753.3kHz(RRI Ujung Pandang) and 4845.2kHz (RRI
Ambon). RRI Ujung Pandang usually signs off at 1605, but finished
at 1733 on the day. The special program of New Year's Eve was
already heard at 1420 and ended at 1630 except Jakarta news relay
at 1600. From 1630 the station relayed the program from Jakarta
until 1733. RRI Ambon usually signs off at 2030, but ended at 1236
on the day. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)

the end of December. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN)

'Kang Guru' program in English heard on Mondays between 1000-1030 on
RRI 'Radio Nasional Dua' channels, including 9680,11750 and 11885.
Sponsored by the 'Indonesian Australian Language Foundation', and

focused on Australian aid projects in Indonesia.
                                          (Matt Francis via EDXP No.75)

When I visited the RRI txs at Cimanggis in Dec 1984 the situation was
   as follows:
   Building 1
4775 PHILIPS tx 50 kW, built in the 70ies I guess, target area
Ea&WeINS, 3 other old PHILIPS txs (inactive and broken)
6045 TELEFUNKEN tx 120 kW, built in the 60ies, target area CeINS,
another TELEFUNKEN tx, built in the 50ies I guess,(inactive
         and broken),
4 HARRIS txs 100 kW, built in the early 80ies, bcing on
         7270 kHz, target area CeINS, 9680, 9770(?) and 11770.
11790 FUNKWERKE KOEPENICK (Made in exGDR) 100 kW (but output was
less than 100 kW), built in the 50ies or 60ies, used for
         VoINS
15150 FUNKWERKE KOEPENICK (Made in exGDR) 50 kW (but output was
less than 50 kW), also from the 50ies or 60ies and used
         for VoINS.
   Building 2
   11700 THOMSON-CSF tx 250 kW, installed in 1984.

It seems that the old GDR txs and the TELEFUNKEN tx are inactive
now. I don't know anything about the Jakarta Kebayoran stn.
                                    (Juergen Lohuis-D via BCDX No.344)

RRI Surabaya on new 3985.6; hrd on 10 Jan 1450 with wayang play, at
1459 clear ID into relay RRI Jakarta with Aneka Berita 1500; 15
Jan at 1435 with soft pops, later ID "RRI Surabaya programa
satu" //MW 585 which is clearly audible here. Schedule presumed
1000 - 1700. Ramadan only operation ? Cf some log elsewhere
on 3976, this is definitely RRI Pontianak.
                                      (Gerhard Werdin via BCDX No.345)

RRI Pontianak is audible on two SW freqs simultaneously: 3976 kHz is
strong and clear here (SIO 544), but 3995.2 is weaker (SIO 333),
mixing with another INS stn and suffering fr a het. But it's
Pontianak no doubt, 'cause both //MW 1233 on clear channel; all
on 16 Jan, at around 1130. (Gerhard Werdin via BCDX No.345)

-----------------------------QSL INFORMATION-----------------------------

4000 RRI Kendari; full-detail prepared card in 39 days for a fresh
report, as several follow-up reports to a previous reception went
unanswered. Verification signer appears to be Muniruddin Amin,
Programmer. Card was also stamped with the characteristic RRI
"Directorat Radio" stamp. This received for a self-addressed,
stamped envelope, which was used. It seems a Euro mailer envelope
still only requires 1600 units of postage.
(Steve Martin via Cumbre DX No.173)
