MYANMAR
5040.6 R Myanmar Minority Sce presumed 1322-1329 with lite vocal mx, ancr in
lang. Good at tune-in but soon
began fading, while 5985.85 continued good until almost 1400 UTC (8 AM
here).
(Oct 17, 2002, John Wilkins-CO-USA via DXplorer)
5985.85 After a tip from Anker Petersen-DEN what appeared to be BBS on
5985.8 was heard at fair strength on a
clear channel at tune in 1520 on Oct 23. A female voice was heard reading nx
items with xylophone mx in between
until 1528 when a progrme of light orchestral mx began -included "Smoke Gets
in Your Eyes" and "The Last time
I Saw Paris". This continued non stop until 1558 when the female voice was
heard again with a brief annt and
then what appeared to be an anthem before txion ceased c1600. Signal
strength by this time was much lower in
the local noise level. It was a surprise to hear Burma at such strength -
normally it is much less.

INDONESIA
RRI's External Service, Voice of Indonesia, has recently made some frequency
changes, and all of its
transmissions now appear to be on the single shortwave frequency 9525 kHz at
0030-0400, 0800-1300 and 1730-2100
in various languages, and also in the Jakarta area on FM 89.0 MHz.
Frequency usage has been erratic in the past, so it might not be surprising
if alternates 11785 or 15150 kHz are
occasionally used as well as or instead of 9525 kHz. The only other SW
transmission heard out of Jakarta at the
moment is the relay of domestic service RRI Pro-3 on 15125 kHz
