DX NEWS---------------------------------------------------------------
We received news that a new 1 kW shortwave transmitter has been put into
operation at RRI Sorong to operate on 9745 kHz. Although this might be
a hard catch, we would be pleased to hear it if someone is able to
receive it. (Ludo Maes via EDXP)
(Thanks for nice information. 9742kHz is now inactive. we hope this
frequency will be reactivated in the near future.-ed)

FOLLOW UP-------------------------------------------------------------
For Jembatan DX No.100 & 101,
Is it Tanjung Karang or Bandar Lampung? There was a QSL recently
reported
to Cumbre for RRI Tanjung Karang on 3395. WRTH 2000 shows it as
Tanjung
Karang (although PWBR has Banda Lampung). When I was first there in
late 1984, the name was Bandar Lampung - a relatively recent
innovation,
and Tanjung Karang was still in popular use. My host was the mayor of
Bandar Lampung. I got the sense the new name was created to cover the
broader metropolitan area, rather than just the older town of Tanjung
Karang. I noted on today's TVRI weather segment (rebroadcast on
Australia's SBSTV) that the name was given as Bandar Lampung (just as
Makassar was used for the former Ujung Pandang).
(Sep 2, 2000 Matt Francis via Cumbre DX No.311)
I did some research on this. Tanjung Karang is the correct name
according to the Rand McNally Premier World Atlas (1997) and my used
copy of the Indonesian tourist guide published by Insight Guides
(1985),
I could not find the other name listed.
(Liz Cameron via Cumbre DX No.311)
The national song traditionally played on RRI following the news is
indeed called "Bagimu Negeri," and here are the lyrics:
Padamu negeri To you, my contry,
  kami berjanji. we promise.
Padamu negeri To you, my country,
  kami berbakti. we are devoted.
Padamu negeri To you, my country,
  kami mengabdi. we are faithful.
Bagimu negeri For you, my country,
jiwa raga kami. (we give) our body and soul.
(Sep 2, 2000, Nick Grace via Cumbre DX No.311)
(This music style is said as lagu wajib. You can see the name and
lyrics
  of this music in
