I was going to stay in a
hot spring nearby, but it was completely full in late Saturday in April 1999.
I had to return to Ishikawa, walking the downtown street. I came to see this old
ryokan. I screamed "oh, neat." It was an old ryokan with nostalgic
atmosphere. This reminds me of Hatago. Hatago was ryokan of
Edo-era and even the past. I enjoyed the master,. Mr. Midorikawa.
I could see that He is well organized and pays a lot of attention to details of the
ryokan, which kept the inn clean and tidy. Here came a little girl (daughter of Mr.
Midorikawa). She asked me, "who are you?" I replied, "I
am a gust for the night". She said, "oh, that's nice, welcome"
Even this little girl knew how to check for strangers and at the same time show
hospitality to the guest. The inn was a luxurious house in the past, and some
rooms had antiques. I wished that a Ryokan like this will survive forever.
