Inspired by National Trust properties
Having had excellent responses in 2001 to 2003, Takumasa Ono returns with the HENRO exhibition during which he will once again he will be displaying his unique sketches and prints. This is a wonderful opportunity to see some of the finest houses, castles and stately homes in Britain through the eyes of a Japanese artist, More than just an exhibition of art, HENRO is a cultural exchange of ideas and a celebration of heritage and conservation that spans the globe.

The main body of the exhibition will be made up of silkscreen prints, the traditional Japanese painting method, sumi-e and kimonos, and the sketches of the original picture that Ono made during his travels in Britain. They are expressed with Ono's original style of painting creating his deep world of art. Mr Ono will also be exhibiting pictures of Japanese scenery highlighting the conservation links between the two countries.

Having previously exhibited in New Zealand, the USA and, of course Japan, Takumasa Ono has focused on the UK since 1 999. A keen exponent of conservation efforts, he uses his art to represent the beauty of nature and works only with water ink in consideration of the environment. His close links with various conservation organisations in Japan led him to start working with the National Trust in the UK.
In 1 999, Ono toured the United Kingdom on a visit sponsored by the Association of National Trusts in Japan, visiting and sketching 58 National Trust properties. Since then he has continued to visit, sketch and exhibit at properties throughout the country.
