Getting Started
Even if you are to play a drum in a rental studio, first thing to do will be making adjustments.
Tunings Adjust with 8 to 10 screws.
You should adjust tunes for the snare's best sound.
Top It's better to tighten screws in hi-pitch. Drummers usually hear the sounds in high tune, and you can create lower sounds later. If you don't like the hi-pitch sounds very much, adjust only 1 to 2 screws looser. Please be careful if you shot the snare strongly, it will be damaged shortly.
Bottom Basically tightening looser than that on top ones. Check the snappy and adjust screws in a right angle with them. You'll see the change in sustain.
Tightening screws too much makes snappy sound weaker.
Snappy Adjust sounds by how strong the snappy is stretched. Full covered is popular. Pay attention not to slip nor slide. Just take out broken pieces in order not to damage the head. Shorter snappy makes quicker start-up and shorter sustain, but I prefer full covered.
You can make fine adjustments by the screws on the side of the snare drum.
Make sure screws are properly tightened.
