Information about drums and how to play by Mr.H, who is a drummer playing at "SugerSweet"in Osaka.
Getting Started
Even if you are to play a drum in a rental studio, first thing to do will be making adjustments.
Settings
To set drums properly makes stable shots. Drummers never hold instruments while playing. So, pay attention to the screws of the stand.
Height Slightly lower than limbs. If it's too low, you won't be able to play a limb shot(open limb shot). If it's too high, it will be inconvenient to play. Some snare stands are difficult to adjust their heights.
Angle Holizontal setting will be good for various kinds of shots. For the matched grip, it is essential for you to make shots in the same angle by both hands.
Especially for beginners, holizontal settings is recommended.
For players with regular-grip, it's natural to settle snare slightly right front side. Originally, snare drums were for marching-bands, and make an angle not to disturb marching.
