Information about drums and how to play by Mr.H, who is a drummer playing at "SugerSweet"in Osaka.
Getting Started
Even if you are to play a drum in a rental studio, first thing to do will be making adjustments.
Head It's so called "leather" part.
Coated head is commonly used, because it is good for brush play as well. It has a rough and white-colored surface. Because of the texture, it allows you to play with a brush. When its surface becomes smooth, it needs to be replaced.
There're 3 kinds of thickness, thin, standard (ambasador), and thick(emperor). I strongly recommend the empelor, if you don't persist in delicate play. Because it stands long use and costs similar(approx. 20.00 USD) to others.
For the backside, where snappy is located, the thinnest one is commonly used. It's not used for shot because of the thinness.
