This is a ride cymbal.
Compare With Ride Cymbal As regarding the photos above, the size of the ride cymbal is 20 inches and the crash cymbal is 18 inches. You can clearly see the difference of thickness between heavy ride and midium crash.
Size Standard size of diameter is from 16 to 18 inches. But there are some exceptions, too. Most of the crash cymbals that are in studios or live houses are often in this size.
I guess that standard thickness would be "medium thin", but how you call or classify the cymbals sometimes differ according to each maker. Followings are some examples of classification:
  • Paper Thin
  • Thin
  • Medium Thin
  • Medium
  • Heavy
  • Tone Tones would be varied according to the diameter and the thickness.
