Information about drums and how to play by Mr.H, who is a drummer playing at "SugerSweet"in Osaka.
Getting Started
Tunings
You make adjustments by tightening the bolts attached to the bass drum.
When you fill a new head to the shell, it is advisable to tighten the bolts and leave it for a while so that the new head will fit into the shell.
Top Head Needless to say, it depends on your taste. But I recommend that you tighten loosely. Generally speaking, it would be slightly tight in jazz music and loose in rock music.
Front Head Basically you might adjust the front head tighter than the top head. It will affect the sustain sound.
Air can go through if you make a hole in the front head. I think the sound would be better if you make a hole in the outer part from the center.
Settings of microphone would be difficult if you don't open a hole in the front head. Because you put the microphone inside the bass drum.
Attack sound would be stronger if you don't put a front head or make a big hole in the front head.
