Rowan Oak




The house where Faulkner lived from 1930 until he died in 1962. This is the antebellum mansion built around 1844 by Rober Shegog. Faulkner named this house Rowan Oak after a Scottish legend he had read in Fraser's The Golden Bough. @Rowan trees were believed to have power to keep off witches.
