What does clearance and sale mean in Japanese?
We went to a store to look for Dad's shirt for work. He has to be dressed pretty well.
We got to the men's section, and looked at a sign that said: FOR SALE! CLEARANCE!
My mom looked at the price, but then she went away quickly. I looked at the price. You won't believe what I saw. The shirt that was ON SALE was for 10000 Yen. That's about $ 100. I ran away.
Mom looked at another price tag. It was about $60. The cheapest was for about for $ 30. I couldn't believe it. If you go to WAL-MART, you can get the same thing for $9. That's exactly Mom said.
I don't know how people in Japan can afford suits + tobacco + beer + hair dyers + make-ups and all those stuff. Still, if something's on sale, won't it be about a dollar??
What in the world does CLEARANCE and SALE mean in Japanese???????
